Daniel Tong, Joseph Tong (Piano Duet)

Hosted by the 亚博app下载 Arts Lunchtime Concert Series

Shaw Library, 6th floor, Old Building

Brothers, Daniel Tong () and Joseph Tong () have been playing together for over 30 years, since their performance at the South Bank Centre of Schubert’s Fantasy in F Minor, D940 as teenage students at Wells Cathedral School. This beloved work has remained a treasured part of their repertoire ever since.

Their careers as solo and chamber musicians have taken them all around Europe and beyond, both with diverse musical lives, whether it be Joseph’s acclaimed solo Schumann (BBC Music Magazine Instrumental Choice) and Sibelius discs for Quartz, or Daniel’s London Bridge Trio (shortlisted for Gramophone Chamber Music Award) and considerable body of critically acclaimed recordings of Beethoven, Schubert, Bridge, Dvorak Schumann and Faure. Daniel is Head of Piano in Chamber Music at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and takes part in lecture tours with Richard Wigmore.

Performance to include:

Rondo in A D951 - Schubert
Variations on an Original Theme in A flat major, D813 - Schubert
Fantasy in F Minor, D940 - Schubert

The next lunchtime concert is on Thursday 7 March and will be performed by Heather Tuach and Yoko Misumi.

Join the 亚博app下载 Choir and Orchestra on Tuesday 26 March for the 亚博app下载 Spring Concert in the beautiful surroundings of St Clement Danes Church.
